Dr. Suma Pulla – Doctor, Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital, Domlur
B.V. Sc & AH with specialization in Ultrasonography
Dr. Suma completed her B.V.Sc and AH from Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University, Tirupathi in the year 2014.
She started her career as a veterinarian at Crown Vet, Mumbai in the year 2017 and worked there for 2 years in OPD and Emergency Critical care. “Being calm and stabilizing pets is something I have learnt while working here. You see pet parents come in and panic, so it was very important for me to stay calm and make sure the pet is treated to the best of my ability”
In 2018, while still working with Crown Vet, Mumbai, she pursued her studies in small animal ultrasonography from Chennai veterinary college for a year.
She joined Cessna Lifeline in the year Feb 2019 and started in the out-patient department. “I enjoy seeing different cases daily and it is something that enriches me. Especially those cases, where tumors are discovered during ultrasounds and then surgically removed, and the pets are ultimately doing well. That makes me happy” says Dr. Suma, who continues to be a part of the out-patient department.
Dr. Suma wishes for more awareness amongst pet parents. “Welcoming a pet into one’s life requires awareness. Pets live for at least 15-16 years at the most, so doing what is right for them and caring for them in the most appropriate way is required.”
Her other areas of expertise, apart from ultrasonography and echocardiography are emergency critical care and internal medicine. “I would love to focus on exotics and learn more about them. I have already started treating birds, turtles, rabbits and guinea pigs at the hospital” she says.
Her hobbies are swimming, trekking and reading books. She loves reading horror and suspense books and just finished reading ‘And then there were none’ by Agatha Christie.
When time permits, she would love to travel to North East of India soon.
