Dr. Himanshu Sharma – Doctor, Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital, Domlur

“My background is the armed forces and I really wanted to join the army as a medical officer, but my father convinced me to become a veterinarian.”
This is Dr. Himanshu Sharma.
She pursued her B.V. Sc from GB PANT Veterinary College in Uttarakhand. “I did not know much about the field and it was initially difficult for me as I was far away from home as well. But once I started to learn more, I became very interested in the work and what I learnt” says Dr. Himanshu, who graduated in 2018 and after a few months of working at a local veterinary clinic in Greater Noida, joined Cessna Lifeline in October 2018.
At Cessna Lifeline, Dr. Himanshu has worked in the OT department for a few months but has largely spent her time in the OPD doing consultations.
“I appreciate how advanced the metropolitan cities are with small animal treatment, but I would like to see more happening up North as well. There is a lot being done in the large animal field but would like to see more initiatives being taken up for small animal practice.”
Dr. Himanshu would like to pursue more advanced learning in the exotic pets’ field and that is also something she feels needs more attention in India. “It is still in nascent stages and a lot can be done and I hope to be part of that growth story” she says.
She is grateful to Dr. Pawan, Dr. Ramesh and Yathisha for guiding her ever since she joined Cessna Lifeline. “They have taken me under their wings and nurtured me to become a better veterinarian every day and I am so thankful to them. Yathisha has handled me so nicely as well from the very beginning. Dr. Ramesh has guided me through cases so well too”
Dr. Himanshu loves being outdoors playing a host of games. She is also a long-distance athlete and a certificate holder during her 2 years at NSS in college. She is also an NCC ‘C’ certificate with A grade.
