Dr. Aishwarya Pai - Doctor, Cessna Lifeline Veterinary Hospital, Domlur – Bengaluru

“When one of my own dogs fell sick, I realized I needed to do something in the field of veterinary medicine.”

This is Dr. Aishwarya – B.V. Sc from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Veterinary Education and Research (RIVER), Puducherry, 2019.

Prior to joining Cessna Lifeline, Dr. Aishwarya took up cases on her own. It was in September 2020 that she joined Cessna Lifeline and currently tends to OPD night shift cases.

“My father would rescue several kittens and puppies and bring them home. During Diwali, we keep our house doors open so that the strays can sought shelter from the noise. In Goa (where she is from), we live close to a forest area and we have seen several traps being laid to catch wild boars and others, so my father and I would go about releasing caught animals. I have two indies and 1 lab mix dog of my own, so I always knew I wanted to work with animals” says Dr. Aishwarya.

Although Dr. Aishwarya has spent a brief amount of time with Cessna Lifeline, she has learned a lot. “Being a new-comer here, I was a bit anxious but the best part about working here is the help you receive. No matter what the case, all doctors help you.” She also chimes in to say how amazed she was to see the hospital set up. “Veterinary Sciences is still very rudimentary from an education standpoint, so to see what was being done here was just amazing. Cessna Lifeline can be compared to any human hospital. Pet parents also push us to ensure we provide high quality care for their pets.”

Working night shifts has taught her to deal with anxious pet parents a great deal. For now, she in enjoying learning more in internal medicine and would like to continue in this space.

Dr. Aishwarya is also a national level basketball player from her college days. She loves to travel and mostly only goes for adventure-based vacations.
